My hobby is collecting autographed books. This year, I got Jamie Lee Curtis to autograph her children's book titled "Is there really a human Race?"It is a good book for pre-teen kids. It has a very positive message concerning helping our neighbors and working to help the entire 'human race."

The World is Flat

   After nearly two years, I finished Thomas Friedman's book "The World is Flat". Friendman is insightful concerning the world's progress from 11/9 (Berlin Wall falls) and 9/11(Terrorists attack USA). It also explains the challenges ahead for our nation and other democracies. He offers strategies related to international relations, industrial development, and education priorities for the new "flat world".

One of the final chapters discusses dreams and memories. If groups, companies, or countries,  are more interested in their memories than dreams for the future, they're in trouble.

Finding Time to Read

I spend two to three hours a day reading. Reading on the computer, newspapers, board book information, and even school newsletters ( I get over 60). I have trouble finding the time to read the books I've posted on the side of this web site. In fact, I've been reading "The World is Flat" for over a year! In my work and travels, I've asked the people that are wordly and knowledgeable when they find time to read.  Most are able to read on planes (that would be two days a year for me), or in the evenings before they go to bed.  I'd like to know how much time blog readers spend reading each week and when they find the time.
