Stone Bridge Sudents Conduct Soccer Clinic For Special Athletes

Stone Bridge High School’s Athlete-to-Athlete Program will conduct a soccer clinic for special needs athletes on Sunday, April 20 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Athletes of all ages and ability levels are welcome to participate in the program which will pair special needs athletes alongside Stone Bridge High School athletes for instruction, competition, and camaraderie. The program is designed to foster connections between high school athletes and the community. It will take place in Stone Bridge High School’s main field or the main gym, depending on the weather, located at 43100 Hay Road in Ashburn. To register, athletes or their representatives should contact Cullen Fleming.

Liberty Elementary School Needs Playground Equipment

Liberty Elementary School in South Riding is opening in the Fall and parents have begun working on purchasing playground equipment.  Because playground equipment isn't curriculum related, the school system cannot purchase it. Several parents have contacted General Mills to get a grant. Please follow the link to the General Mills Website and show your support. Diversity College & Career Fair on March 26

Please come to Dominion High School on Wednesday March 26, 2008 at 6:30PM for a College & Career Fair. Most High Schools will be running buses to the event.  Even if your child.  Last year, we had over 100 schools represented. Even if your student is a freshman.. come on out and check out the offerings.

School Board Budget

In the interest of promoting a positive relationship with the Board of Supervisors, I won't comment on the budget discussions held last week or the meeting we'll have this Wednesday night (March 12th). I urge parents and interested citizens to let the Board of Supervisors know their opinion on the budget.  Please review the LCPS Budget Documents and contact the Board of Supervisors. 

I understand that the Board of Supervisors have received over 450 e-mails concerning the budget...WOW! the School Board received that many e-mails from a single sub-division during the most recent boundary hearing.  I have a suspicion that many of the concerned citizens haven't read the documents in question.  As a minimum, please read the Executive Summary.

The Loudoun County Chapter of Red Cross Needs Your Help

I serve on the Board of Directors for the Loudoun County Chapter of the Red Cross . We are seeking donations to continue our service to the community.  Here are some facts about Red Cross and our chapter:
